Kings crown Warriors

The West Kelowna Warriors winning streak is over at two.

The Warriors dropped the second game of a three-game road trip Saturday, falling 5-3 in Powell River.

The Kings jumped out quick, assuming a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Warriors though battled back early in the second to draw even.

Chase Stevenson banged home his 10th of the season in the first minute of the second to climb to within one.

Six minutes later, Willie Reim's 11th tied it at 2-2.

But, penalty trouble erased any momentum the Warriors had built. A little more than a minute after Reim tied it, Ethan Kimball but the Kings up for good on the power play.

Another power play goal from Carmine Buono three minutes later re-established the two goal lead.

Carter Turnbull's second of the night gave Powell River a 5-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Warriors peppered Alex Rolfe with 17 shots in the third, but ,managed just one goal from Michael Ryan with three minutes left.

West Kelowna outshot Powell River 43-33 on the night.

West Kelowna conclude their three-game trip Sunday in Chilliwack.

They return home to host Victoria next Saturday.
