The Okanagan Sun look to jump into 3rd place in the BCFC

Sun look to end slide

The Okanagan Sun have had their way with the BC Football Conference's bottom feeders this season.

Unfortunately, the Sun have had no luck against the three teams ahead of them in the standings.

They have two opportunities to turn that around, beginning with Sunday's home finale against the VI Raiders.

The Sun come into Sunday's tilt deadlocked with the Raiders for third in the BCFC standings, both with identical 4-4 records.

The Raiders would clinch at least third with a win, while the Sun could secure third with a win by more than 24 points.

They could also keep their hopes alive with a victory, but would need a win to close out the season in Victoria.

The Sun and Raiders have met once already this season in Nanaimo, with the Raiders coming away with a convincing 37-13 victory.

In that game the Sun held a slim lead early, but a 16 point explosion in the second and 20 more in the fourth pout the game away.

Alex Douglas struggled in that game, completing just six of 21 passes, and was intercepted twice.

The Sun were able to run the ball effectively, picking up 278 yards on the ground, but were unable to find the end zone, settling for three Isaac Wegner field goals and a pair of safeties.

Sunday's game is also two-for-one ticket day.

Buy any ticket and the second is free.

The game kicks off at 1 p.m.
