Smoke moves BCFC game

Lingering smoke in Kamloops has prompted the B.C. Football Conference to change the location of this weekend's game between the Broncos and Valley Huskers.

The game, originally scheduled to be played in Kamloops, will now be moved to Chilliwack. It will start at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The air quality index in Kamloops remains at a very high risk today, and is expected to stay about the same through Saturday.

According to the province's air quality health index, air quality in the Fraser Valley is expected to pose only a very low risk through at least the first part of the weekend.

In making the announcement, the league says a game between the two clubs slated for Sept. 8 in Chilliwack is tentatively set for Kamloops, weather permitting.

Two other games on the schedule Saturday, the Okanagan Sun at Langley and VI Raiders at Westshore, will go ahead as planned. Should air quality deteriorate, the league will re-evaluate.

A game last weekend in Kamloops between the Westshore Rebels and Broncos was cancelled. It will be made up as part of a "four-point" contest in Victoria later in the season.
