Suspect flees from homicide

8:00 a.m. update: 56-year-old Hong Nguyen has been found at Vancouver International Airport and arrested.

His van, however, a 2000 green Honda Odyssey, license plate 390 XHB, has not been located and police continue to ask for the public’s help in locating it.

Police are calling it a “domestic” incident, but aren’t yet revealing the victims name.

RCMP are searching for a man who may have fled after a fatal shooting in Surrey Friday afternoon.

On September 20, just before 4:00 p.m., the Surrey RCMP responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 8100 block of 145th Street.  The caller reported that a male inside the home had been shot.

Surrey RCMP attended the location with the LMD Emergency Response Team and located a deceased male within the residence.

Although the information is minimal at this point, the shooting appears to be domestic in nature and investigators believe the suspect fled the scene and is still at large.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is warning the public to be vigilant for 56-year-old Hong Manh Nguyen, who fled in a green 2000 Honda Odyssey van with BC licence 390XHB.

Nguyen may still be in possession of a firearm and RCMP are advising the public not to approach, but to call 911 if he is located.

More updates will be provided as they become available.
