The historic Frontier Hotel Restaurant building in Revelstoke has burned to the ground
Fire destroys restaurant
Fire has destroyed a historic building in Revelstoke.
Fire Chief Steven DeRousie said the “Frontier Hotel Restaurant building was fully involved” when fire crews arrived with multiple pieces of equipment and numerous volunteer firefighters overnight.
“Crews worked hard to contain the fire to the involved structure while evacuating all guests from hotel rooms. ESS is on scene and assisting displaced guests,” DeRousie said in a statement.
“Through their hard work, fire crews were successful in saving the Fas Gas, and the Frontier hotel rooms. There was no damage to the Chevron [gas station] or other nearby structures.”
No injuries were reported among fire crews or hotel guests.
“The fire cause is under investigation, but is not being considered as suspicious,” DeRousie said.
BC Ambulance Service, RCMP, Fortis and BC Hydro were also at the scene.
