Train derailment in Fraser Canyon Sunday north of Yale

Train derailment near Yale

CN Rail dealt with a derailment in the Fraser Canyon on Sunday.

CTV News is reporting one of the numerous mudslides to hit the area on Sunday led to a partial train derailment north of Yale.

Two rail cars came off the tracks.

CN says the derailment happened at around 6:30 p.m on a set of CP Rail tracks.

No one was injured and there were no spills or dangerous goods involved. The precise location of the derailment is not known at this time.

CP Rail sent teams to the site immediately. CN is also sending a team once the flooding situation stabilizes. It’s not yet known what the extent of damage to the rail link is.
