Two people were killed in a crash in front of a Burnaby elementary school, Wednesday.
Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating. At 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Duthie Avenue and Montecito Drive.
One truck was found on its side after crashing into a pole with one person trapped inside. Fire crews had to cut the roof off the truck to remove the driver. A golf cart flew off a trailer and was seen upside down in the middle of the road.
Crews were seen doing CPR on an elderly male lying on the ground next to the pickup. He was taken to hospital by paramedics.
Residents have often complained of speeding in the neighbourhood.
