Three Valley Lake wildfire threatens CP Rail line

Fire threatens rail line

The Shuswap Emergency Program says the Three Valley Lake wildfire is holding at 60 hectares in size, but the Canadian Pacific Rail line is threatened by the flames.

CPR is responding the situation, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District says.

The evacuation order for the area north of the lake, including the Three Valley Gap Chateau, west of Revelstoke, remains in place.

Two structural protection units, which include crew members and water sprinkling systems, have been deployed to protect infrastructure.

The Trans-Canada Highway remains open on the other side of the lake.
