BC tour company launches new brand & adventures targeted to Canadians

BC adventure co. regroups

A B.C.-based luxury tour operator is trying to bounce back after the COVID-19 pandemic hit their business hard.

The new endeavour is called the BC Adventure Company and they are launching new adventures targeted to B.C. residents and Canadians.

Rockwood Adventures business model was geared towards a well-heeled international clientele but travel restrictions shut that stream down and forced the company to pivot. Company owners, Alasdair Douglas and Nancy Celetti, tell Castanet they are now targetting Canadians interested in multi-day private excursions in beautiful B.C.

“With every challenge, there is an opportunity, Nancy and I are very excited about the partnerships we’ve forged with fellow BC tourism businesses, global brands and exceptional individuals to bring BC Adventure Company to life,” says Douglas. “We are passionate about offering one-of-a-kind experiences to guests seeking an escape from the everyday. Our mantra is: The finest gift is the gift of time. Perhaps one perfect, unforgettable day…’ ”

Rockwood Adventures, like many tourist-based businesses, was hit hard over the past year — zero-revenue — hard. Douglas and Celetti have now decided to channel their efforts toward attracting local Canadian business. “Rockwood represents to our wholesale clients a solid partnership where we take care of the “adventure” needs of international customers. Our goal is to maintain the positioning with our Rockwood brand,” Douglas says.

Some of the adventures include Bowen Island: Coastal Rainforest Adventure by Land, Sea, and Air and a new Okanagan offering, “Meet the Insiders Outside: Okanagan Savouring Sustainability Adventure.” Described as, "an incomparable all-inclusive three-to-five-night customizable experience where guests are entertained and escorted across the Okanagan with a personal guide."

Rockwood Adventures has been in operation since 1995.
