New multi-millionaire has yet to claim $13-million Lotto Max prize

Mystery millionaire in BC

If you purchased a Lotto Max ticket for the March 19 draw, you could be a multi-millionaire and not even know it.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has announced that a single person has won the jaw-dropping $13-million jackpot. The ticket was purchased in the Prince George-Mount Robson area.

The winning B.C. ticket was the only one sold across the province – and across Canada – to match all seven winning numbers: 2, 7, 8, 26, 30, 43, and 48. The odds of winning the Lotto Max jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800.

The winner has yet to come forward to claim their prize. All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward.

Of course, the longer the winner waits the more interest on their money they are losing. Some winning tickets are never claimed. Last week, a $1 million Lotto 6/49 ticket sold on Vancouver Island expired.

Unclaimed prize money for national draws, including Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, goes back into the prize pool.

The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners’ name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize.
