WorkSafe B.C., the B.C. Coroners Service and Port McNeill RCMP are investigating the death of a 41-year-old logger this week on Mount Connolly, northeast of Broughton Island.
The logger, who has not been identified, was from Comox.
RCMP were notified of a workplace accident about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
“While the circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain under investigation, criminality is not suspected,” said Sgt. Curtis Davis.
Both WorkSafe B.C. and the B.C. Coroners Service would only confirm they were called to the scene and are investigating.
“The primary purpose of an investigation is to determine the cause of the incident, including any contributing factors, so that similar events can be prevented in the future,” said a WorkSafe spokesperson.
