Revelstoke resident vying to become Inked Magazine covergirl

'Insatiable love for tattoos'

Another BC resident is vying to be the Inked Magazine covergirl.

Kat Peters is currently first in her group in the contest that will determine the winner by the highest number of votes they receive.

The Revelstoke mother has been fan of tattoos since her teens.

“My lower back was my first tattoo. I was 18 and my mom was tired of me drawing all over myself. She said if I wanted a tattoo that bad, I could pick one that was cool, she’d sign and pay for it if I promised to stop drawing all over my hands and arms,” said Peters. “Well, I drew it myself instead of picking one. The booked day comes and I am so scared... but then the machine starts up, and so begins my insatiable love for tattoos.”

Peters said getting tattoos are “addictive” and she has added many over the years.

The winner of the contest not only becomes a magazine covergirl, they also walk away with $25,000.

Petes said the prize money would be spent on her family.

“Of all the things I’ve accomplished, having kids, the skills I’ve acquired, owning a home is one I haven’t achieved. I’d like to say that my family has the stability of knowing our home is secure. So I’d be putting the money towards a home purchase,” said Peters.

Jennifer Bowden, also from Revelstoke, is in the competition as well.
