Interior Health declares COVID-19 outbreak at a Williams Lake care home
Outbreak at care home
Interior Health is announcing a COVID-19 outbreak at Williams Lake Seniors Village (WLSV) and a temporary stop to all visits.
The virus has been detected in a unit of the long-term section of the care home, with one resident testing positive for COVID-19.
Individuals who were in close contact with the resident are in self-isolation and monitoring their symptoms and the resident's family has been informed.
WLSV is located at 1455 Western Ave in Williams Lake and is privately owned by Retirement Concepts.
The company operates 113 publicly funded long-term care beds. It also has assisted and independent living residences - none of which have been impacted by the outbreak, according to Interior Health.
Interior Health says it stays dedicated to protecting the health of all staff, individuals in care and families at long-term care homes. Learn more here.
