RCMP locate a missing 12-year-old boy in West Kootenays

Police are confirming that the 12-year-old boy reported missing was located last night. He is safe.  Slocan Lake RCMP would like to thank those that assisted with the investigation.

His name and photo have been removed from this story.

RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old boy in the West Kootenays.

The boy was last seen Thursday at about 11:30 a.m., when he departed his Winlaw, B.C. home.

Police say there is nothing to indicate foul play at this time but are concerned for his safety. Investigators believe the boy either remains in the Slocan Valley region or he may be travelling towards Rossland, B.C. 

Description of the boy

  • Caucasian male;
  • 12 years;
  • five-foot-one (155 cm);
  • blonde hair;
  • blue eyes;

He was last seen wearing a blue Santa Cruz hoodie, carrying a back pack with a red skateboard attached.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the boy is urged to contact their local police, Slocan Lake RCMP at 250-358-2222 or 9-1-1 if necessary. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
