B.C. announces 46 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, 0 new deaths

British Columbia's top health officials announced 46 new cases of COVID-19 in the province in the past 24 hours, including two from the Interior Health region. 

This brings the province's total number of positive cases to 4,111, and the Interior's total to 393 cases.

There have been no new deaths since Monday, and 3,444 people have fully recovered from the virus.

B.C. currently has 472 active COVID-19 cases, including eight in hospital, of which five are in ICU. 

No new healthcare outbreaks were announced over the past 24 hours. This leaves eight remaining active healthcare outbreaks, seven of which are in long-term care or assisted-living facilities and one in an acute-care facility. 

There have been no new community outbreaks, but exposure events continue to happen and new flights have been identified for cases recently, says provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. 

The Krazy Cherry Fruit. Co outbreak in Oliver has now been declared over. 

In a joint statement, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix encouraged residents to keep gatherings small and follow all of the recommended safety procedures. 

"As we look to fall, what we've learned from other jurisdictions is that transmission in a school setting is a reflection of what's happening in our communities; keeping our community transmission low and slow keeps us all safe.

"What we do each day protects us, our families and friends and our communities. Let's continue to work together to bend the curve not the rules."
