Meth, ecstasy, cocaine and almost $35,000 in cash seized

Major drug bust in Quesnel

A man and a woman are facing several criminal charges after police seized drugs, a weapon and cash in Quesnel over the long weekend.

Quesnel RCMP say the bust has made a ‘major impact’ on the local trade after finding more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, about 750 ecstasy capsules, 20 grams of cocaine, a .22 calibre rifle and $34,705 in cash in a rural home and two storage lockers.

On Sunday, the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit arrested the two suspects without incident after issuing a search warrant at the property where they were residing. They now face charges that include possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and firearm-related charges.

Names of the suspects are not being released to the public at this time.

Quesnel police say the investigation began in April, specifically targeting meth trafficking in the city and surrounding areas.
