A skydiving death claimed an experienced jumper's life Sunday on Vancouver Island.
RCMP say the 34-year-old Victoria-area man died after a miscalculation on his landing.
CTV News reports the accident happened Sunday evening near Nanoose Bay, between Nanaimo and Parksville.
Police say the man’s parachute did open and he apparently planned to land in a field, but something went wrong and he crashed into the ground.
The BC Coroners Service and Canadian Sport Parachuting Association are investigating the incident.
