Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson holding tele town hall Tuesday

Leader to engage business

B.C. opposition leader Andrew Wilkinson will engage small business owners across the province during a virtual town hall Tuesday afternoon.

Wilkinson, who says small businesses have been hurt hard as a result of measures to calm the spread of COVID-19, will hear concerns, and ideas, from business owners.

"Paying rent, trying to find solutions for employees who were laid off or are still being paid from dwindling savings, navigating the massive amounts of information regarding temporary benefits and supports — none of this is easy," said Wilkinson.

"I want to reaffirm our commitment to you: the hard-working British Columbians who have put everything they have into starting, owning, and operating our province’s small businesses."

The virtual telephone town hall begins at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"We’re here to listen and to work together with you to find the right solutions for our province moving forward.

"As British Columbians, you deserve that from the people you’ve put your trust in to help when times are tough."
