There are reports of a motor vehicle crash on the Coquihalla Highway near Mine Creek Rd.

The incident is apparently affecting southbound traffic.

DriveBC states emergency vehicles are en route and further information is expected soon.

Meantime, a travel advisory remains in effect for the entire stretch of the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt.

There are reports of heavy snowfall, blowing snow and limited visibility.

Motorists are being advised to exercise caution and to be prepared for extreme driving conditions.

A major collision on the Trans Canada Highway north of Hope could keep that stretch of road closed for some time.

According to DriveBC, the incident occurred between American Creek Road and Parklane Drive.

It's not known how serious the crash is, however, DriveBC indicates the road is not expected to reopen until sometime on Tuesday.
