Vancouver Police still looking for driver that ran man over

Did you see hit and run?

Vancouver Police are hoping the public can help identify the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run late last month that resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.

Just after 7 p.m. Nov. 29, police believe a vehicle struck a 51-year-old man near Kaslo and Franklin streets and drove off without stopping.

Police found the pedestrian in the middle of the road, screaming in pain. The male was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

“Despite a lengthy and ongoing investigation, investigators have yet to identify the driver and vehicle involved,” said Const. Tania Visintin. “VPD are now appealing to the driver, and anybody with information to come forward.”

The victim is still in hospital.

Police are looking for dashcam video from anyone who may have been traveling on Kaslo or Renfrew between McGill and Hastings, or on Hastings between Kaslo or Renfrew, between 7-7:15 p.m. on Nov. 29.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or passed through the area and has dashcam video, is asked to contact the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-9360.
