BC highway conditions update

Highway Roundup

With all the precipitation falling over the past week, it is important to keep an eye out on road conditions before setting out on your journey.

Highway 3 is mostly clear with wet roads, so be careful if the weather drops below freezing level. In the Kootenay Pass at the Salmo Creston Summit, the highway is fairly snow covered with limited visibility. Same goes for the Paulson Summit on Highway 3.

The Trans Canada is mostly clear with wet roads as well. Around the Clanwilliam Railway Overpass the highway has been partially cleared, with snow still covering a fair portion of the road. The Rogers Pass and Quartz Creek section is almost entirely snow covered, so be careful driving in those areas.

The Coquihalla Highway and Highway 97C have seen some snowfall, but have been cleared entirely.

Up around Prince George, there is a high flood warning issued on Highway 97 between Mitchell & Summit Lake Road due to the heavy rainfall in that area.
