Mounties in Surrey placed a home and a gas station behind police tape early Saturday morning as they worked with homicide investigators to determine what happened in "an altercation" between two men overnight.
Surrey RCMP are investigating after a man died following an assault.
On Oct.12th at 4:40 a.m., police were called to the 18300-block of Fraser Highway by BC Ambulance
where a 47-year-old man was in medical distress following an alleged assault.
Despite life-saving measures being implemented, the man died at the scene.
“One man has been arrested in relation to the incident and remains in custody. Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit will be working with IHIT to continue the investigation,” said Const. Richard Wright.
“Police believe the two men were known to each other and that there is no ongoing concern for public safety at this time. There is no indication that this incident is related to gang involvement.”
