Fined for Timbit bear feed

After posting photos of himself feeding bears Timbits and hot dogs, a Victoria man has pleaded guilty under the BC Wildlife Act.

The BC Conservation Officer Service said Randy Scott, 31, and co-accused, Megan Hiltz, 27, fed bears from their vehicle on the Alaska Highway, CTV News reports.

Scott wrote on Facebook he had a "thousand timbits ready for bear feeding."

He was fined $2,000 and ordered to stay at least 50 metres away from bears for six months.

The charges were stayed.

In another brush with the law, Scott was charged with dangerous driving in 2013 after a video of a motorcycle racing nearly 300 km/h in Greater Victoria went viral.
