Wing ripped off in crash

A small plane crash into a Langley field injured the pilot Friday afternoon.

The single-engine aircraft crash-landed in a field on 272nd Avenue about 2 p.m., ripping off one of its wings, CTV News reports.

The pilot was able to call for help, and was taken away in an ambulance. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

A Coast Guard helicopter landed on the property to deactivate the plane's emergency beacon.
