Wayward sailboat sinks

The Coast Guard was called Wednesday morning for a sunken sailboat in Vancouver’s English Bay.

CTV News reports the boat was adrift near the Maritime Museum. When crews tried to tow the boat to shore, it started to take on water.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada say they tried, and failed, to keep the boat afloat. There is now just a portion of its mast above water, marked with orange buoys.

The Coast Guard has so far been unsuccessful in tracking down the boat's owner, but once they are located, they will be responsible for removing the vessel.
