The BC Wildfire Service says it’s mopping up a 25 hectare grass fire south of Revelstoke.
Provincial crews and the local fire department first responded to the grass fire 12 kilometres south of the city Tuesday.
“The fire is now classified as ‘under control’ at 25 ha in size,” the BCWF said on Twitter Wednesday. “A crew is on site today to mop up and patrol the fire for smouldering areas,”
The fire is suspected to be human caused. RCMP and Compliance and Enforcement are investigating.
“This serves as a great reminder to use caution when lighting any fire,” BCWF said.
