The Vancouver Police Major Crime Section is investigating an assault that claimed the life a teenager on Friday night in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
At around 9:15 p.m near the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Keefer Street a teenaged male was allegedly assaulted with a weapon before the suspect ran off.
Several witnesses called 911, and the victim was rushed to hospital, where he later died.
The male victim has been identified as 19-year-old Vancouver resident Dakota Saje Wildeman-McNeil.
No arrests have been made.
RCMP say this was not a random act and there is no risk to the public.
