Hit-and-run video released

Police have released footage of a hit-and-run that hospitalized a 67-year-old woman last month in New Westminster.

A driver struck the senior late Dec. 29 while turning left at the corner of 6th Avenue and 7th Street, reports CTV News. 

The video captured by a transit bus shows the woman thrown to the ground by the collision. The driver pulls over and walks over to the woman, who is lying in the middle of the road.

Police say the driver then left the scene before they arrived. Investigators are still trying to track down the person responsible and hope anyone with information comes forward.

The victim was in a marked crosswalk when hit.
