Feathers were ruffled in Saanich this morning, when police and firefighters were called in to round up a flock of wayward chickens.
Dozens of the birds were mysteriously running free in the community, CTV News reports.
The emergency personnel managed to capture 23 of the cluckers in a tennis court, and a family also showed up with seven it had captured.
No one seems to know where the birds came from. They were to be turned over to animal control, which is seeking anyone able to house the birds once they are all rounded up.
