60,000-hit meth bust

Hundreds of kilos of drugs were taken off the street in a Surrey RCMP raid.

About 60,000 doses of methampethamine were seized in the late November storage unit raid, RCMP said Thursday.

Police also seized 227 kilograms of the painkiller phenacetin or "super buff," which is often used as a cutting agent in cocaine, CTV News reports.

An industrial pill press was also found at the 132nd Street site.

"This equipment had the capacity, and police believe it has been used, to produce high-quality counterfeit prescription pills," the RCMP said in a statement.

Charges have yet to be laid in the investigation.
