A Surrey man unconscious after a horrific racetrack accident on Vancouver Island woke up to meet his newborn baby for the first time.
Jonathan Sedman had been heavily sedated since a racecar flipped over a barrier and landed on top of him at Saratoga Speedway near Courtenay on Sept. 29.
The ordeal sent his wife into early labour, but Sedman was finally able to meet his son Caden on the weekend.
"It's almost like, this kind of unbelievable moment for him of like, 'Whoa, this is my son!'" his sister Jennifer told CTV. "You could tell in his eyes he was really surprised."
"Just being able to hold him and have him in his arms… It's so amazing to see," Jennifer said.
