Highway delays in BC

Highway 93 is now clear in both directions from Radium Hot Springs to the British Columbia and Alberta border.

The road was impacted by wildfire activity and smoke but conditions have since improved.

Wildfires and the smoke they produce continue to impact travel on B.C. highways.

Highway 1 both directions, 16 kilometres east of Revelstoke, there is a travel advisory in effect, drivers should expect smoky conditions and delays.

Wildfire-related activity 20 Km west of Creston at Kootenay Pass, is also causing delays in both directions on highway 3. Travellers should be aware that this is an active wildfire site. There may be possible delays without notice. Please watch for fallen debris, crews, and equipment.

There is also a travel advisory in effect for Highway 93 in both directions from Castle Junction to Radium Hot Springs. Crews are working along the highway, and wildfire smoke is affecting visibility for drivers. Expect reduced speed and possible delays. The highway may be closed anytime without advanced notice to ensure safety for motorists. Travel is recommended between 7 a.m. AM and 2 p.m. Drivers may take Highway 1 and 95 through Golden BC as an alternate route.
