Vote for Best of BC wines

More people are having their say on B.C. wines than ever before.

The second annual Best of BC Wine Country Awards are back – and have already received more than 3,500 votes only two weeks in. That's more than the total number of votes last year in the month-long contest.
"The response from the public has been great," says Laura Kittmer with the BC Wine Institute.

The online survey allows the public to vote on their favourite wine experiences.

“Whether it’s for the experience, the award-winning wines, the local food, the people or the scenic views, we want to know first-hand from winery-goers what keeps bringing them back,” says Maggie Anderson, communications director with the institute.

Voting began July 23 and continues through Aug. 17, with sub-categories for each of B.C.’s unique wine regions. Voters also have a chance of winning a Best of BC wine gift basket, an overnight stay at a Best of BC winery, or dinner for two at a Best of BC winery restaurant.

With 276 wineries open to the public, 74 winery restaurants and 16 regional wine trails, the Wines of British Columbia new Trip Planner App will help you narrow down your choices.

Winners will be announced Sept. 13. Vote for your favourites here.

Did you know B.C.'s wine industry employs about 12,000 people and has an economic impact of $2.8 billion annually? Each year, B.C. wineries welcome more than one million visitors.
