BC diver among rescuers

A B.C. diver is among the heroes who rescued a team of young soccer players from a flooded cave in Thailand.

Langley resident Erik Brown was part of the crew that reached the boys, who were trapped underground when the cave flooded.

Brown posted a photo of himself and two other divers to Facebook, Tuesday, with the caption, "9 days. 7 missions and 63 hours inside Tham Luang Cave. Success."

As the world watched the rescue drama, Brown's family expressed relief that everyone is safe.

"There are so many amazing people that made this outcome what it is," Brown's mother, Dorothy, told CTV.

"He's very brave," his brother, Kirk, said. "He did what you would expect anyone to do ... executed what he was asked to do very well."
