More than 150 corgis were at Vancouver's Spanish Banks Beach on Saturday — some outfitted as racehorses, sharks, pieces of sushi and superheroes.
Organizers said there were likely 1,000 people on hand, who were the dogs' owners and lovers of the short-legged pooches, as part of a beach day event to celebrate the breed.
The second-annual event included a costume contest and a race.
“They bark at you and give you love and they’re cute and they’re stumpy. I think people can just kind of relate to them being a little bit different, sometimes, too," event organizer Cindi Lunn said.
Lunn said the turnout exceeded organizers' expectations, after about 50 people attended a year ago.
On their Facebook page, organizers thanked attendees and their dogs and said they will be planning a "bigger and better" event next year.
