Car collides with motorbike

RCMP in Burnaby are investigating a .crash between a Mini Cooper and a motorcycle Saturday evening.

The motorcycle was travelling south along Griffiths Drive around 5 p.m. on June 16 when it collided with a Mini Cooper in the intersection of 18th Avenue. 

The 28-year-old male rider was thrown off his bike and is in critical condition in hospital. The Mini Cooper's driver was also taken to hospital, with minor injuries. 

Alcohol and drugs don't appear to have been factors in the collision, whereas speed may have been.

Motorcycle crashes in B.C. peak in the summer, so police are reminding motorists to be careful and obey posted speed limits. 

Anyone who witnessed this particular accident is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999, or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800--222-8477.
