Gang hitman found guilty

An alleged gang hitman has been found guilty in two shootings that happened a decade ago.

Cory Vallee was found guilty Friday of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

He was accused of working as a hitman for the United Nations gang in B.C.'s Lower Mainland.

The charges followed the deaths of Jonathan Barber, 24, and Kevin LeClair, 27 in May 2008.

Barber was killed when his Porsche Cayenne SUV was shot up in Burnaby. He had no links to crime, police say.

LeClair was a high-ranking member of the notorious Red Scorpions gang, of which Jonathan Bacon was the leader before his shooting death in Kelowna in 2011, also in a Porsche Cayenne.

LeClair died in a "hail of gunfire during a brazen daytime shooting" in February 2009, the Independent Homicide Investigation Team said.
