Hiker airlifted, takes tumble

An ill-prepared hiker was airlifted from Vancouver's North Shore Mountains Sunday evening.

The man, who was wearing shorts and shoes not made to deal with snowy conditions, lost his footing and tumbled down a snowfield toward a steep ledge on Mount Fromme.

"He was trying to navigate back to the trail when he took a slide and got stranded," search manager Simon Jackson told CTV.

The man wasn't injured, but was airlifted out by helicopter.

"There's still a lot of snow up there," Jackson warned.
