In spite of bitter cold temperatures Monday morning, meteorologist Cindy Yu says we aren't in danger of setting any new records.
"The daily record low was set back in February of 1986, so that Feb. 19 we got down to -25.2 C," said Yu.
Still, with windchill and frostbite warnings issued for Kelowna Monday morning, wind chill got down to -28 C this morning, with a risk of frostbite.
Yu says to expect the cold temperatures to last all week. The good news is we won't be getting any more snow until possibly Friday.

Not only has old man winter put us on notice that he's not done with us yet, dumping between 10 and 25 centimetres of snow over the weekend, now it's freezing!
Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning for parts of the province, especially along the B.C.-Alberta border near Yoho and Kootenay Parks.
A period of very cold wind chills is expected.
Environment Canada says very cold air with temperatures near -30 C combined with light winds is producing wind chill values near -35 C this morning. Wind chill values will moderate later this morning as temperatures rise.
You're advised to dress in layers you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with a wind chill.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health, such as frostbite and hypothermia.
