Police are looking for witnesses to an assault in downtown Vancouver Tuesday night that left a 51-year-old man in critical condition.
Emergency crews were called to the front of the Astoria Hotel on East Hastings Street at 11:30 p.m. after an unconscious man was found on the sidewalk.
The injured man was quickly rushed to hospital in critical condition.
After some investigation, police determined the victim had been in a “physical altercation” with another man, and may have hit his head on the concrete.
Police arrested a 42-year-old man at the scene, but he's been released pending further investigation.
The victim remains in hospital.
