Crossing guards in Victoria are calling it quits.
The non-profit Beacon Community Services group says it will no longer man intersections after this school year. It will continue to guide kids across the street until July, however.
The group says "administrative and staffing complexities" are behind the decision, and it will train anyone willing to take over the service.
The school district says it will have a new strategy in place for the 2018-19 school year.
