Guilty plea in homicide

Members of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team are crediting hard work for sending a killer to jail.

On Jan. 26, Randeep Singh Match, 36, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Tarsem Dhaliwal.

On Jan. 17, 2014, Dhaliwal, 35, left his residence to meet a friend and never returned home.

On Jan. 19, 2014, Dhaliwal was reported missing by his family and two days later, he was found dead inside his vehicle.

On Dec. 10, 2014, Match was arrested and charged with the murder of Dhaliwal.

“IHIT investigators, in partnership with the Surrey RCMP, worked tirelessly to secure all of the evidence relevant to this case. A guilty plea in any homicide investigation, speaks to the efforts and dedication by all involved,” said Cpl. Frank Jang.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 1.
