Thank goodness for low tide

Thank goodness for low tide.

No one was injured when a Toyota minivan jumped a curb and went over the sea wall at Willows Beach in the Victoria suburb of Oak Bay on Sunday.

Police say the driver was sober when he hit the gas instead of the brake and landed on the beach, coming to a stop on some logs. However, he did receive a $196 ticket for driving without due care.

A tow truck was able to remove the vehicle, but Oak Bay Police tweeted the man was lucky the tide was out when the incident occurred.
