Another teen girl attacked

Another teen girl has been attacked in Surrey.

RCMP are investigating an assault on a student near Earl Marriott Secondary School – the second in four months.

A 16-year-old girl was walking in nearby Alderwood Park about 7:30 a.m. when she was grabbed by a man.

The girl ran to the school, and "police were immediately dispatched to the area, but were unable to locate the suspect,” said Cpl. Scotty Schumann.

Police are seeking witnesses or any surveillance video from the area.

The attack is even more disturbing considering a 14-year-old girl was also grabbed in September. The teen managed to escape and called police.

The suspect in the latest incident is described as Caucasian, 30-40 years old, with a fair complexion, short black hair, and wearing a black hoody and gloves.

“Thankfully, the victim is physically uninjured. However, she is understandably upset by the incident,” said Schumann.

Schumann said officers are comparing both incidents to determine if there are any connections.

The Surrey School District has sent a letter home to notify parents about the incident.

Students are advised to use main routes and walk with friends.
