A popular bartender is the focus of Vancouver’s hospitality industry support this holiday season.
Christian Zelichowski was seriously injured in a fiery crash on the Burrard Bridge early Tuesday morning.
Zelichowski was a passenger in a cab hit by a high-performance sports car that went out of control and crossed the centre line shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver of the northbound Audi R8 died at the scene after the car split into pieces and burst into flames when it hit the southbound taxi carrying the driver and Christian Zelichowski.
A GoFundMe page has been started to help cover medical expenses. Zelichowski suffered damage to abdominal organs, along with serious spinal injuries and injuries to his spine, sternum and ribs.
The driver of the taxi and Zelichowski both survived but have serious injuries.
