A woman witnessed a large boulder land on a car, just 200 metres in front of her on Highway 1.
“She ran up there but by the time she got up there a paramedic was on scene so they told her to go back because they were worried more were going to come down,” said a friend of the witness.
Highway 1 has now reopened.

A rockslide south of Revelstoke has caused traffic to halt on Highway 1 after a boulder landed on top of a car.
A Castanet reader said she witnessed the "huge" rock land on the car.
“I believe the person was OK," he said.
The rockslide occured just past Three Valley Gap.
Drive BC said traffic is closed in both directions 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke.
An assessment is currently in progress and another update is expected at 4:15 p.m.
