RCMP are warning the public after an 11-year-old girl was groped in Surrey, Tuesday.
Police say the girl was walking on the 18800 block of 65th Avenue shortly after 5:30 p.m., when a man grabbed her buttocks.
Cpl. Scotty Schumann said the man "apologized and quickly retreated the area on foot" when the girl reacted to the incident.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his thirties. He's about six feet tall with stubble on his face. He was wearing blue jeans, a light-coloured shirt and a light-coloured baseball cap.
Police are advising people to walk in groups, stay away from remote or secluded areas, tell people where they are going and when they'll be back, and to remain vigilant.
Anyone with information should call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
