A weekend helicopter crash near Campbell River claimed the life of a woman, and a man was rescued from the wreckage.
The Robinson R44 went down Sunday in heavy bush.
The woman died at the scene, while the man was airlifted to hospital in Victoria.
The man was able to send text messages for help while he was trapped in the wreck.
Comox Search and Rescue lowered a technician to the crash site and hoisted the survivor to safety.
Ground crews, RCMP, air ambulance, firefighters, and an RCMP helicopter assisted in the operation.
The BC Coroner's Service and Transportation Safety Board investigators to the scene Monday.
