Two Surrey teens are in custody after an early morning home invasion in South Langley.
RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy says police were called to a residential property in southern Brookswood shortly after 1:30 a.m.
“The caller advised unknown males had entered the home and stolen items from inside the home as well as their vehicle,” said Largy.
Police arrived to see the stolen vehicle fleeing the scene. A police helicopter followed the vehicle into Surrey, where it was stopped at the intersection of 168th Street and 92nd Avenue by a spike belt.
Four people ran from the vehicle, but a police dog was able to track two suspects, who were arrested.
Items stolen from the home were recovered in the vehicle.
Police will recommend charges against the 16 and 17 year olds.
“The investigation into the identity of the two outstanding suspects is ongoing,” said Largy.
