A luggage thief has been arrested at Vancouver International Airport.
Officers with Richmond RCMP's YVR detachment arrested a suspect in the international terminal Tuesday evening.
The 46-year-old Vancouver man allegedly stole luggage from the domestic arrival carousels throughout the month of September.
“In the past several weeks, we responded to calls for service from travellers in the domestic arrivals area reporting lost luggage,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang. “The most recent instance occurring on Sept. 24.”
A man fitting the description was seen by YVR security staff on Tuesday and was quickly arrested.
Travellers are reminded to attend the baggage claim carousels immediately upon arriving.
